Here's a political quiz to see which candidates your answers support.
http://www.isidewith.com/political-quiz
My results:
Bernie 98%
Hillary 93%
Trump 36%
Christie 33%
Bush 24%
Kasich 23%
Cruz 18%
Carson 13%
Carly 12%
Rubio 11%
Was a bit surprised that Rubio was at the bottom.
I expected Cruz to be the low match.
Trump as the the highest matching Repub sounds heinous, but after his ugly immigration plans, he wants to avoid foreign wars and supports some social programs. After Trump I got the "moderate" governor trio.
I thought their graph was interesting.
It called me a left wing, authoritarian (moderate). Which means a leftie who supports government action |

Bernie for Dems, and Kasich GOP, according to that quiz.
Not the first time I've thought that Kasich is a poster child for how skewed to the Right the GOP is now. He is much closer to the mainstream, and yet seems to be on the margins of the GOP pack. GOP has become the party of the enlarged amygdala, i.e. Fear 'n Paranoia.
Thanks for the link, that was fun. |

Krugman doesn't like Kasich. His ideas about the economy are old-school conservative garbage and he could lead us right to a new depression.
And now Christie and Fiorina have dropped out, so Trump's triumph draws closer, no doubt. As for the Democrats....
Don't get me wrong, I love Bernie. I think he's got appealing ideas that align with a lot of Americans, both right and left. But if he becomes The Candidate, a Republican is going to win. I have two women friends who are irritated by Hillary and look more favorably on Sanders--and these aren't college kids or hippies, they're middle-aged New York professionals. But while I acknowledge their irritation--Hillary has made some bad missteps, for someone who should know better--her faults don't preclude presidential abilities. In fact, her practicality and sharp political style are far more apropos for high office than Sanders' hopeful promises and ideals. We all want a single-payer system and free college, but neither is going to happen until Democrats are running the government, and maybe not even then.
So it's Hillary for me, because otherwise--I shudder to think. |

The quiz had me ranking Kasich atop the gop field but bear in mind: low bar.
I think, after watching the gop field narrow, Hillary is likely our next potus. I hope Bernie can pass the baton of campaign finance reform. |

I've heard physicists say that Einstein snuck "aether" in the back door. If you can curve and stretch something it's not really nothing, not a true empty. |

That may hurt Trump more than help. Christie and Fiorina are more establishment types. Despite Fiorina acting like an outsider, her views are more traditionally Republican. |

I thought it interesting how Christie manage to puncture Rubio's chances on his way out of the race. Christie and Carly were polling 3% combined. Doubt they affect much at all. I suppose Fiorina was a business alternative to Trump, sort of.

I remember thinking it odd how Romney basically doubled down on the horrendous Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
Mitt Romney’s 2012 plan: $150,000 cut for the top 1 percent, $725,000 cut for the top 0.1 percent, $5 trillion cut to overall revenue over ten years
But all the GOPers this year have similar plans that cut even more tax for the wealthy and blow up the deficit more:
Rubio’s plan would cut taxes by $162,000 for the top 1 percent and $932,000 for the top 0.1 percent, while reducing overall revenue by almost $7 trillion.
Jeb Bush’s plan: $167,000 cut for the top 1 percent; $808,000 cut for the top 0.1 percent; $6.8 trillion cut to overall revenue over ten years
Donald Trump’s plan: $275,000 cut for the top 1 percent, $1.3 million cut for the top 0.1 percent, $9.5 trillion cut to overall revenue
Paul Ryan’s 2014 plan: $227,000 cut for the top 1 percent, $1.2 million cut for the top 0.1 percent, $5.7 trillion cut to overall revenue
Unreal.
And half of them are up for more ME wars. |

Okay, here's the way I see it playing out:
Obama gets all the major GOP players and senators to steadfastly declare that the next president should appoint the next SCOTUS justice.
Then Obama resigns.
And next president Biden appoints . . . Obama to the High Court.
Next, President Biden announces he's running for re-election ...
Along with GOP front-runner Trump, all the other GOP fireworks, and the Sanders insurgency, this would be the most interesting presidential race ever ... |

When political disagreement descends to the level of dancing on graves, I sometimes want to look away.
But I know it's an indicator of Scalia's influence and power, or anyone's, when people start singing ding dong the witch is dead, or crack open the champagne.
So who's going to operate Clarence now? |
