Quote: You might be disappointed, but I find the caveman patriotism of the NFL to be one of its endearing qualities. I think for a lot of the players in the NFL political authority travels in a straight line from position coach, up to the coordinator, on to the head coach, then to commissioner Goodell, then from there straight to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. I'm pretty sure most of these guys think that's why they go to the White House after they win the Super Bowl. I find that hilarious. I guess it's twisted and wrong, but so is almost everything else about the NFL, which is why we like it, I think — you have to enjoy the game as a kind of fascist comedy, sort of like Starship Troopers.
LOL. I love the NFL and I couldn't agree more.

Although he may have forgotten the incident, I have never forgiven myself for being gratuitously insulting to McBain when he set up his own film review website some years ago. However, though I can't bring myself to address him directly, I am pleased to see his life is on an even keel and his sails are full of wind. His obvious joy at being the father of a beautiful baby girl fills me with vicarious joy, which though not as good as the real thing, is not to be scoffed at. |

I am delighted to be able to announce at long last (it's been a family secret for almost three months now) my upcoming grandparenthood. The baby is due in July. Yay! |

It's whole new stage of life, in a way a deserved payoff, but that doesn't begin to describe it. I can't do better. Just wait. And congratulations. |

Fantastic news billy!
Maybe 20 some years from now, your grandchild will have a comment to make about A Serious Man. I can wait. |

I love being a grandfather Billy. I've three wonderful kids, 14, 13, and 11 they are my joys and only live two hours away in Wisconsin. Which is where I'm heading to help Protest and fight for the Unions. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!! |
