| Jesse Eisenberg deserves a load of props for playing Mark Zuckerberg as a dweeby creep and not softening the portrait to massage his own ego. Though Mark does come off better than awful in the end, he still maintains his position as "someone you wouldn't want to know," and Eisenberg never wavers. It's an excellent performance which will be recognized during awards season. |

| Speaking of the award season, I saw Solitary Man the other night and am curious as to whether or not Michael Douglas will be considered this year. I thought it was a gutsy and vulnerable performance. |

Douglas was amazing in Solitary Man. IMO it's right up there with Wonder Boys.
I think he'll be in contention for the Oscar for either SM or Wall Street 2, at least in part because of the cancer scare he's undergoing.
Interestingly, the aforementioned Jesse Eisenberg is aces in support of Douglas in SM. |

| I hope you're right, Billy. I just hope if he does get a nomination people don't attribute it to his cancer. [Even though I'm certain many will.] |

| Fight Club is the best American film of the 90s. |

Eisenberg was excellent in the role of Zuckerberg. The acting was first-rate across the board.
I was so glad that they let us know the resolutions of the various disputes, at the end of the picture.
This question might be a spoiler:
In the last shot, it's his girlfriend that he trashed at the beginning of the film that he is reloading and reloading on Facebook, right? |

Loved Fight Club. I want to watch it right now. Zodiac, on the other hand, was a waste of five hours and thank the gods I never have to see it again.
Hear, hear on Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Douglas. But I suspect this is Colin Firth's year. |

That movie hasn't even been released yet. What makes you think he's a sure thing? The trailer looks boring.
P.S. Just did some research. I see that the film is getting great buzz. It's also based on a subject--stuttering--which I'm very interested in. |

| I agree, Billy, it does look boring. But all the festival talk from this year has been centered on Colin Firth, whose character overcomes a terrible stutter, or something. (shrugs) Just passing on industry gossip. |

The movie hasn't been released, but it's been festivaled, which is where the buzz comes from. The movie looks stultifying from the trailer, despite the talents involved. |
