Shoulda held off on your Best Actor nominations too. Acting doesn't get much better than Stuhlbarg's in the lead--or Melamed's and Kind's in support.

We have a runoff for the fourth and fifth position for Best Supporting Actor

For the fourth position, the nominees are:
- Anthony Mackie
- Woody Harrelson

For the fifth position, the nominees are:
Fred Melamed
Zach Galifianakis
Alden Ehrenreich
Robert Duvall

Runoff goes until 11:59:59 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Mackie and Melamed. But I don't understand how there can be 2 run offs. Isn't the loser of the 4th spot automatically the fifth spot?

Duh. Bingo. In other words, aren't the two that are tied for fourth automatically the fourth and fifth nominees?

What a game! And I had to sit next to my silly daughter-in-law who grew up in Indianapolis where she met my son. Punches were exchanged.

And to start the second half with that crazy pile-up that went on and on...

Gary....don't forget to get your Peyton and Paytons straight.

BEAUTIFUL!

Yeah, why don't they learn how to spell their names?

Chills - You can't do a run off until the cut off time. I've forgotten when that is off hand, but not everyone has voted yet.

I have seen a ton of foreign and documentary films this year. Sadly none that were actually put out this year. So hear comes my few votes:

Best Actor:

Joaquin Pheonix - Two Lovers
Johnny Depp - Public Enemies

Best Actess:

Melanie Laurent - Inglourious Basterds
Meryl Streep - Julie & Julia

I'll add to this if I can see A Serious Man in time.

Chilly's doing supporting actor. The cutoff time has already arrived for that. Although whether Chilly needs a runoff is a question. A reminder: there's a cinematography runoff currently under way, too. between District 9, A Serious Man and A Single Man, and the deadline is Tuesday at 11:59:59 PM.

Okay, y'all:

Best Actor Update

I have votes from Marj-y, Marc, Billyweeds, Syd, Trish, Whiskey & Ghulam

Close, close, close -- so, please get your nominations in ASAP.

When is the cutoff point, anyway? I mean, I still have to nominate. . . Rolling Eyes

Cutoff is Friday.

Still not clear on supporting actor nominee, but I'd choose Mackie for fourth and nobody among the four for fifth. And you forgot to say what movies they were nominated for.

Best Film:

Julia
An Education
35 Shots Of Rum

Of these only An Education figured in my Top 10. I'm afraid I 've come over all worthy and serious - it happens from time to time. I guess I felt the need to raise the tone. Doesn't look like I'm going to get to see A Serious Man in time for it to figure in my considerings.

Jeremy, I'm happy to see someone other than me on the forum really dug Julia.
