Saw Inglourious Basterds last night...

Also wanna see much more of Mélanie Laurent and Diane Kruger, for the same reasons and many more.

The only other thing I've ever seen with Kruger is a great movie from 2006 called Joyeux Noël. She was also in both of the National Treasure movies, both of which I missed.

I had never heard of Laurent until Inglourious Basterds.

Just saying..........I saw Tetro today and I absolutely loved it. Loved it! More later (when there's a lag in the discussion.)

Oh my gosh........you've just given me goosebumps. Please see it soon......I think we'll be the only ones. You need to see it on the big screen because there's something vast about it......

Lorne liked it and reviewed it here.

Tetro came and went through Houston too fast. I should have seen it the weekend I had a mind to because it was gone by the next.

When writing about Brad Pitt, no one ever seems to mention Snatch. He was terrific in that and funny as hell. I really like that movie. Someone mentioned Pitt as becoming very good in a comic role. He did that at least 9 years ago in Snatch.

Madonna seems to have ruined Richie. Maybe he'll come back now that she's out of his life.

Earl - Thanks for saving me the trouble of screaming at the top of my lungs, "I raved about Tetro a month ago!!!"

It's a huge, intense, gorgeous film that almost everyone missed. My only concern is how it translates onto the small screen for the inevitable flood of rentals.

I was about to mention Snatch.
And even earlier, Pitt's cameo role in True Romance where he plays the stoner roommate.

I've liked Pitt in almost everything I've seen him in. I have avoided some of his romantic forays, and Benjamin Button was mostly a snooze, through no fault of his.

He was uncharacteristically awful (I'm sort of a Pitt fan) in 12 Monkeys, for which he was (almost predictably) nominated for an Oscar. You see, rather than being unshowily professional, his usual mien, he was mannered, over the top and embarrassing, but in the eyes of Hollywood, this constituted "real" acting. Phooey!

Oh yeah, his gut was bursting with scenery in that picture. A good picture too. A friend of mine thought his performance was excellent. I didn't have the heart to tell him what I thought about it.

I am so on the same page with you both on this, especially considering what a really fine actor Pitt is. I've always thought he was underrated, perhaps due to his looks, but wow, did he ever loose his bearings in 12 Monkeys.
