Quote: Having seen Up, Star Trek, Sin Nombre, X-Men, Terminator and The Soloist, there's really nothing pulling me into theatres right now. I need a recommendation.
Having seen Up, Sin Nombre and The Soloist.......I would see Management, Goodbye Solo, Adoration, Tyson next. If you are a sports fan you might like Harvard vs. Yale. I heard it was good. |

Forgot about Goodbye Solo. That's actually #1 or #2 on my list. |

All you needed to do was remove the glasses for a moment to see how much brighter it was with them off (of course some of it was blurry because it was formatted for 3-D so you had to put them back on to continue to watch the movie).
The 3D effects were more noticeable in previews of other 3-D movies than in this one - honestly it wasn't worth the extra dollars and again - i think the colors would have been more vibrant in a 2D version.
That said I encourage people to see the film either way.
here is a link to Ebert's review http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090527/REVIEWS/905279997
his words:
"...The movie will be shown in 3-D in some theaters, about which I will say nothing, except to advise you to save the extra money and see it in 2-D. One of the film's qualities that is likely to be diminished by 3-D is its subtle and beautiful color palette. "Up," like "Finding Nemo," "Toy Story," "Shrek" and "The Lion King," uses colors in a way particularly suited to its content...." |

I saw it a couple weeks ago and agree completely. Roger Ebert had an excellent observation about the two actors: that the younger man had a face that was made to smile, while the older man had a face that was made to look pissed off.
I've seen a handful of movies in the last month or so and have just been either too busy, lazy or tired (or some combination of those) to write even so much as a one-paragraph review on any of them. A couple of them aren't even on the big screen in Houston anymore, so maybe they'd be better off in Couch. But I'll get to them. |

Then there's Chloe Sevigny, who says that on the set of The Brown Bunny he was mighty hard to work with and she was glad about that. |

Chloe Sevigny, what a suck up.
Chloe was saavy in her dealings with Gallo, she didn't want to blow it. Though she did. |
