The Bush administration put relentless pressure on interrogators to use harsh methods on detainees in part to find evidence of cooperation between al Qaida and the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s regime, according to a former senior U.S. intelligence official and a former Army psychiatrist.
Such information would’ve provided a foundation for one of former President George W. Bush’s main arguments for invading Iraq in 2003. No evidence has ever been found of operational ties between Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network and Saddam’s regime.
The use of abusive interrogation — widely considered torture — as part of Bush’s quest for a rationale to invade Iraq came to light as the Senate issued a major report tracing the origin of the abuses and President Barack Obama opened the door to prosecuting former U.S. officials for approving them.
Let’s say this slowly: the Bush administration wanted to use 9/11 as a pretext to invade Iraq, even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. So it tortured people to make them confess to the nonexistent link.
There’s a word for this: it’s evil. |

As to Facebook.......I don't want to reconnect with high school people. I hated high school. I don't want to reconnect with ex-husbands or ex-friends or ex-boyfriends. There might be a few people I would enjoy reconnecting with.......but I have trouble making time for the few friends and family I do have. I'm an introvert. I like solitude. I like reading more than surfing the net. |

The conservative commentators have uncovered some damning evidence of Obama's lack of love of country and man of the people. The mustard he requested on his hamburger was Dijon.
A revelation like that could sway a number of voters. Maybe as high as double figures.
These guys are desperate beyond belief!
The current slate of presidential hopefuls for the Republicans is made up of Palin, Romney, Huckabee et al. Good luck GOP, you will certainly need it...in spades. |
