Sorry, I can't figure out where else I can post this. I need to change my email from what I originally used when I joined the forum, because the mail site no longer exsists, to what my email is now. When I tried to change it, I got a message that that email address had been banned.

Did I get banned in absentia? And why? Grant you, its been along time since I posted last, but as far as I knew, I wasn't in trouble with anybody. So whats up?

Leigh

Hi, Leigh. You shouldn't have been banned. Maybe someone confused your e-mail address with one of the spammers who infest the membership list (although that doesn't explain why it's showing your number of posts). We had another poster Lissa, who tried to change her email early in the site and I think she had the same problem you did.

Hey Syd
Great, what do I do now? That coolgoose.com email site doesn't even exsist anymore.

And I have another question, while your here... are we not allowed to post links to our websites in our signature line? Which is cool, I just want to know for certain what I can and can't do.

Leigh

Lady Wakasa and Marilyn are doing that, so it's clearly possible. I'll do some experimenting and see if I can put the Space Alliance in my signature line.

Yep. Just type the URL in your signature line.

If you put
url=http://chapters.nss.org/ok/2006/Out0607.html]July 2006 Outreach[/url

in square brackets, it becomes
July 2006 Outreach

and goes automatically to the http address if you click on the words. (In this case, it goes to the July 2006 issue of the Oklahoma Space Alliance newsletter.)

No, either type it
http://www.artistsites.org/bdswaggerArts/
with nothing else (the blog program reads it as an URL)
or
url=http://www.artistsites.org/bdswaggerArts/]Leigh's Web Site[/url
which, when you enclose it in square brackets, becomes
Leigh's Web Site

Well, I dont know what the problem is, because that didn't work either. Maybe its something to do with the same reason it wont let me update/change my email either.

Nany suggested I wait and talk to the person who is the admin for the forum about the email, and I'll ask about the problem with the signature line link at the same time. In the meantime, I'm not gonna mess with it anymore. I'm just getting really frustrated.

Huh, you know in your profile, were you can make changes? well, to the side of my signature line, it says HTML is off. Would that make a difference?

Now take that bottom line in your signature and put it in square brackets. I can't show you directly because it would turn into a link.

Leigh,

I'm not sure about the HTML being off question, but what Syd means is that you need to put a left bracket [ before the word url, and a right bracket ] after the second word url. See if that works.

Interesting, but I'm not holding my breath on this one.

With only seven months left in this administration, it's pretty pointless.

Only 51 more shopping minutes (Central time, at least) until King Kamehameha Day, folks.

It's already King Kamehameha I Day on the east coast, so they're already dancing hulas and saying "Happy Birthday" for both you and the King.
