The coworker just came over and said that "three hours of movie nirvana" hits it right on the head. |

Also, I'm hosting Invitation to the Dance Film Blogathon March 4-10. Details will be forthcoming on my website this weekend.
Kewl!
Invitation to the Dance Film Blogathon - why have I heard that before?... |

One of my best friends is an Indian copy editor (yes, they're taking those jobs too!) whose father owned a Bollywood studio. She said sometimes they filmed romantic scenes on the balcony outside her bedroom window, and did dance numbers in the back yard.
I think I'll order that DVD, and give it to her if she's interested. Otherwise it looks like it's worth keeping... |

Carrobin - Invitation to the Dance is the name of a film by Gene Kelly. My nephew did ads for me to have for bloggers to post. |

That was me - but I'll have to check from home. |

Oops yes. Sorry. I'll be posting the ads this weekend along with the article describing the blogathon. I designed it to end on Fred Astaire's birthday. |

I don't believe Siskel Center is planning to show the short, but that should be extra incentive to 3rd Eyers to get their hands on the DVD. How is it that the two films were linked together? |

That movie sounds delightful. I noticed on that site a mention of Tollywood movies. I hadn't heard of that particular flavor of film. Can anyone tell me what they are? |

Telugu + Hollywood. Telugu is another Indian language than Hindi. Tollywood is based in Andhra Pradesh on the eastern coast of India. Hyderabad would be the largest city in the region. There's also Kariwood, based in Karachi, Pakistan.
There's a Tamil film industry, too, but I don't know if it has a nickname. |

I think it does, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. Thanks for the info. |

Both are about the apocalypse or "the end of the world" or something. I'm not sure it's possible to rent the DVD; it's offered as a package on a website called Film Movement, which offers films of interest to subscribers. Here's the info:

...which means it's been sitting on my shelf for months ('cause I'm way behind with the dvds) |

Interesting link. Thanks. ('Though I don't agree with the reviewer that the film is apolitical.) |
