I see locks in every category except supporting actress. Gads. If the strike prevails and this is another Golden Globe snoozer, there won't be much missed. |

They were determined to do that, not matter what anyone else was planning. "You will be an animated feature nomination, no matter what you want."
Although I think it stands an excellent chance of winning. (I think.)
I'm a little bummed they couldn't even get Lust, Caution under Adapted Screenplay, but what are ya gonna do. |

Mongol looks like a good film.
I guess the songwriters get to choose which song from Enchanted is the fifth nominee. I'm surprised "Happy Working Song" got more votes than "That's How You Know." Disappointed they didn't nominate any songs from Walk Hard. |

Syd, I'm disappointed it was overlooked, I thought is was an excellent movie and JCR was fanphucingtabulous in it. |

Jynx : "TWBB vs. CK? I'd like to hear the heavy-hitters response to that. To me, it's like comparing the Chrylser Building to a trailer in Louisiana. I think PTA had much better films with Magnolia and Boogie Nights."
Both are stories of highly ambitious but flawed men, who pursue their objectives ruthlessly and achieve pyrrhic victories. Are the two movies equally great? Probably not, but it is too early to say. |

Re. TWWB vs. CK: Kane was sympathetic somehow because he had regrets. He knew he'd lost his "Rosebud." Daniel Plainview never ever becomes even remotely human or sympathetic, nor has the capacity for regret.
That's the primary difference for me-- I liked both films, but they're almost completely dissimilar in narrative and emotional terms. |

Tire, there are dissimilarities. What struck me though was the larger than life towering figure ruthlessly pursuing his goal. |

My goof. The words "nominees to be determined" refer to the songwriters for the song from August Rush. Three songs from Enchanted got nominated, of which I like "That's How You Know" the best. I like it better than the song from Once, too. |

I'm cheesed off that Marshall Crenshaw wasn't nominated for "Walk Hard." He deserves every award those jerks have out there in Hollywood, you bet. |
