No. A hint, this was a movie from before his time and he would watch it on TV. I don't remember if he said if he had ever watched it in a theatre.

No not GWTW.

The interviewer was surprised and amused that this was his big favourite from his youth. He said that he wouldn't even watch Gunsmoke if this movie was on at the same time. This movie was in what some consider the golden year of movies.

You're kidding. I didn't even check because I was sure it was wrong.

Now I guess you're expecting a question out of me, hunh?

Sorry, I thought I'd start the week off with a question but some real-world stuff has come up. This is free for whoever wants to take it.

Okay, an easy one.

A film of the early '50s involving members of a certain form of recreational fraternity spawned two rock bands named after two of the recreational fraternities on screen. Name the film and the two bands/fraternities.

Hint: one band's name is spelt slightly differently to the group in the film.

Could you clarify what is meant by "recreational fraternity" -- I fear a slight difference in dialect has reared its ugly head.

No, just circumlocutory phrasing...but "club" or "gang" might be more standard phrases.

That's what I thought, but I hit a dead end. Jets? Sharks? No, that's later. Did Buzz have a gang in Rebel Without a Cause? No.

But writing about this has given me an idea. How about the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club from The Wild Ones? And wasn't the other club the Silver Beetles or something??

Motley Crue (Crew) -- a rowing movie?

Seriously, I just don't have a clue on this one.
