Actually, I don't like billy's avatar. The frame and font overwhelm the picture of billy. I suggest a simple border, no "billyweeds" and just the picture. Simple and elegant.

Maarc and Gary have spoken, and Lissa and I obey. At least until everyone else says this one sucks. Can you say codependent?

I like both versions of Billy's avatar. But for so long he was my favorite gun-toting Democrat. Hard to get used to the new image. So far, everytime I've looked at it, Barry Manilow's "I Write the Songs" has begun to float through my head.

That is so weird. I just said to my wife and some others (and they sort of agreed) that the new picture is more macho than most pictures that are taken of me. I see more Manilow in other shots.

Oh, but I think you're referring to the picture in which I actually was toting a gun, right? Ah. Now I get it.

FWIW, I far prefer the other one. The photo's very dark and for me it drew the attention to the center of the frame. But hey, wtf do I know? I'm just a graphic designer. Best to listen to retired pulp-fiction writers and angry, hypocritical hippies.

Totally just kidding -- gawd, can't believe I still feel like I have to type this Rolling Eyes

I'm not a retired pulp fiction writer, I'm an unsuccessful pulp fiction writer. And Marc is an entrepeneur.

Oh, sorry. Thought you were a retired man that likes to write pulp fiction.

Anyway, now I kinda want to see the other one again. Twisted Evil

Oh well, as long as we are ALL voting.

I'm in favor of keeping the billyweeds but losing the frame.

billy, my criticism of your avatar was based on my own taste and it was honest and my intentions were good. I've been involved in a alot of design work and I do think I have a good eye. I think your wiseass response is bullshit. But, I forgot that this website serves as a support group for some of you.

ehle,

if you wait for a vote, you'll be waiting forever. Just go ahead and launch a Frears forum.

Funny you should mention that. I planned on going ahead with Frears first (twas majority which spoke, me laddy), but I have no one interested in moderating it and I can't. As much as I really would like to, I'm simply too busy now. Probably like most everyone else. The moment the position is filled, it's a go.

Fer crying out loud, Marc, do you think I would have had lissa give it another try if I didn't think your suggestion was sincere and possibly valid? Maybe you should write me a script in the future. I didn't think my response was wiseass in the least.

Anyway we now have four versions to choose from and you've only seen three so far.
